They are a roughly twenty five year old travel company based in Kingston, Ontario. The site is much unlike the majority of travel sites; there is no flight / car / hotel search engine built into the front page, and the front page doesn't immediately present you with lots of information on current flight prices and package tour offers. Instead, the site seems based around getting you to identify your travel interests and contact the travel agents who are listed on the site by name and with their portrait photos. The company has about twenty travel agents working for them.

Odyssey Travel began primarily as a student oriented travel company and now they offer Odyssey vacations for a variety of different kinds of clients. Nevertheless, the Odyssey Travel map reaches all over the world, with special deals available on Long Haul airfares and adventure travel packages. The Odyssey Travel site can also guide you to a lot of information on international programs for students and young people travelling during their "gap year". Odyssey trips are available to help students arrange study abroad, language learning abroad, work abroad, and foreign volunteer missions.

Odyssey Travel also offers help in the student travel specialization with International Student Identity Cards, Student Class airfares and travel insurance, Hostel cards and accommodation, and rail passes for Europe and other parts of the world. They also offer a fifty percent discount on bus passes for Europe and Britain. While Odyssey Travel certainly demonstrates that they are well acquainted with student travel and helping students make international arrangements, the website does tend to be a little sparse. It seems likely that if you call their travel agents on the phone they will have a lot of information on more recent deals for students.
