Holiday fonts are a great way to decorate for the holiday season—and a very important tool in promoting your website. Holiday fonts can be used in many different ways from advertising to virtual greeting cards, to printed cards, banners and other printed items, to customizing your own personal desktop.

What Kind Of Holiday Fonts Are There?
You can't even count how many unique holiday fonts are available for easy download. No matter the season, there is a holiday font that can match it. How about pumpkin holiday fonts or a bloody font for Halloween? You can download jolly looking happy holiday fonts for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Independence Day and and other holidays, and get some nice holiday fonts for your personal collection. (Just be careful not to use any loud creepy fonts when sending a Mother's Day E-Card to mom!) You can also download many free holiday fonts for children. Find the font styles of all your child's favorite films, like Aladdin, Austin Powers, Batman, Star Wars and surprise them with an out-of-this-world greeting card! Along with fonts there are also many holiday dingbat fonts, which are tiny pictures in place of letters.

You can download and install holiday fonts by dragging the downloaded font file to your “fonts” folder in the Windows Control Panel. Some versions of Windows automatically install the font with a special installation program, but in case the font doesn't register, try putting the file directly into the fonts folder.

What You Should Know About Free Holiday Fonts
Holiday fonts are usually free and a lot of fun to use. But remember a few points when using fonts on web pages. While many fonts are free for home use, when commercial purposes are involved, the owner may request a fee, or that the fonts not be used at all. Furthermore, just because you upload special fonts on your web page doesn't mean they will be seen by your visitors. The visitors would first have to have the same fonts installed on their computer, or at least have their browser set to automatic font download. Usually professional web designers use regular Windows fonts, individual picture files, or Java fonts and effects, and do not risk using specialty fonts on a commercial site.
